These terms cover the Cosmetic Checker app for iOS (the “app”). By downloading or using it, you agree to them. Apple’s standard Licensed Application End User License Agreement (the standard Apple EULA) also applies to the app. If you don’t agree with these terms, please don’t use the app.
What the app does
Cosmetic Checker reads the batch code on a beauty product and estimates when it was made and how long it lasts. Please treat the results as informational estimates:
- They are not safety, medical or legal advice.
- Batch codes and brand rules can be misread, can be wrong, and can change over time.
- If a product smells, looks or feels off, stop using it, whatever the app says.
The app is provided as is, without any warranty about the accuracy of its results. Your rights as a consumer under the law where you live aren’t affected.
Free use and Premium
The app is free to use, supported by ads. Free use includes unlimited checks, and History shows your newest 10 checks.
Premium is an auto-renewing subscription, offered monthly or yearly. At launch, Monthly is 3.49 EUR and Yearly is 11.99 EUR. The App Store shows the exact price in your own currency before you buy. While you’re subscribed, Premium gives you:
- No ads.
- Unlimited History.
- Every theme, including themes we add later.
You pay through your Apple Account. Your subscription renews automatically until you cancel it, and you can cancel at least 24 hours before the current period ends. Manage or cancel it in your Apple Account settings. Refunds are handled by Apple under its own rules, not by us.
One-time purchases
Ad-Free Forever
Ad-Free Forever is a single purchase (24.99 EUR at launch) that removes ads and gives you unlimited History. It does not include themes. “Forever” means for as long as the app is offered on the App Store.
Themes and theme packs
You can buy themes one by one or in packs: Color Pack, Signature Pack, Signature Pack II and the Festival Collection. These are one-time purchases. You keep what you bought after a Premium subscription ends, and you can bring it back on a new device with Restore Purchases. The contents of each pack are fixed as sold. Family Sharing is off for these purchases.
If you used the earlier version of the app, the themes you already own there are still yours.
Your History
History is stored on your phone and holds up to 5000 checks. We don’t keep a copy, so if you delete the app or lose the phone, the History goes with it.
Ads and analytics
The app shows ads from Google AdMob, and asks for your consent first where the law requires it (through Google’s consent message). It uses Firebase for usage statistics and crash reports. The details are in the privacy policy.
Using the app fairly
Please use the app for yourself and in a lawful way. Don’t try to overload or scrape our service, and don’t copy, modify or reverse engineer the app, except where the law lets you.
Changes
We may update the app, its features, its prices and these terms from time to time. Changes to the terms are posted on this page with a new effective date. If you keep using the app after that, you accept the updated terms.
Our responsibility
As far as the law allows, we aren’t liable for losses that come from relying on the app’s estimates, or from the app being unavailable. Nothing here limits any right you have by law that can’t be limited.
